Gym wipe purchasing

Dear Vice Presidents of Finance,

The Virginia Distribution Center (VDC) has informed us they will no longer approve waivers for gym wipes effective July 1, 2025. After that date, all gym wipes must be procured directly through VDC. They have also requested VCCS identify a standard product that will meet the needs of our colleges.

To support this request, we engaged end users, facility maintenance staff, and Athletic Directors across the system to gather information on the types of gym wipes currently in use. Based on their feedback, we have identified four commonly used products that will be submitted to VDC to determine which options they are able to source and supply:

• Sani-Cloth Germicidal Wipes
• 2XL Gym Wipes Antibacterial Fast 4
• Safe-T-Wipes (75% alcohol hand sanitizing wipes)
• Flex Wipes Disinfecting Gym Equipment Wipes by Kleen Machine (FLEXWIPES – 2 bucket case, 1,600 wipes) – Fits Stainless Steel Floor Stand Dispenser for Gym Wipes for TCC

If your college is already using wipes sourced through VDC, you may continue to do so without any changes.

Additionally, some colleges have custodial vendors who provide gym wipes as part of their services. If this is the case for your college, no action is required unless you have a need to procure a different type of gym wipe.

Once we receive confirmation from VDC regarding which product(s) they can supply, we will follow up with you to provide ordering guidance and next steps.
